Bought an xmod... wow these are fun

Well I finally saved up enough money to purchase my next project for the spring. So I had a few extra bucks in my wallet from just getting paid. Anyways, another night of sitting at home on the computer I was looking at those xmods. Well I stumbled upon some videos of people racing their xmods around tracks and some videos of just people recording themselves. Wow these look like fun, so since I live a boring life during this horrible months with this weather, I jumped in the saab and took a run to radio shack. So i purchased this 06 Mustang starter kit. No upgrades yet. Brought her home and started putting it together. I had a blast. Yah so anyways, anyone else have these cars? For some reason I love the color :)

My brother's got one and has modded the hell out of it (and he's 40 this year!). His is an Acura RSX, and he has installed all the suspension goodies, springs, tires/wheels, body kit, gears, motor, and even an AWD kit. The little fvcker flies, too

I have a supra. Its in total pieces, havent screwed with it since about a year or so ago, I had the upgraded engines, awd, new tires, multiple crystals so i could race my fiends. I used to be heavy into that stuff.

Ya I really got nothing better to do. Skiing season blows. It's still 40 degrees outside w/ all the mud and dirt on the roads. So no cougar yet. Paintball is still a few months away. So basically I have the choice between, read and studying for college, work, play computer, or sleep. So it'll give me something to do for the next few months.

I was into it for about $230.  I got a good deal on it from an xmod forum.  It was used but pretty much new.  He was the one who took the loss on it.  I made some money off it.

yep...rc is just one of those hobbies that you cant realy expect your money back on if your one of those guys that has too buy new stuff. ive lost a ton of money on stuff. half of what i ever put in is useally written off. i had an rc 10 gt team that i completely went over with in aluminum like a . had a nova rissi engine on it. the thing was sick. i still ended up having enough of it and sold it along with a t maxx that was pretty heavilly modded for 700. i lost at least that on them. i dont know why i do that. i cant seem too hold on too anything. it just comes a time when i need too purge of all my shiznit and i blow everything right out the door.

im much more into airplanes and helis now. im looking into a revo or more likely a savage with the trukzilla mod but i doubt ill get back into the trucks.

the x mods are cool as well as all the take offs of them but in the overall picture no matter how much you end up spending they still end up being kind of a novelty. then you end up kicking yourself for dumping money into it. thats my problem. id be fine if i could friggin leave anything stock.

Yeah me too.  I'm into electric only.  I fly mostly parkflyers, 3D foamy's, but I do have one nitro plane.  Only heli I have is a piccolo which is non cp.  Haven't messed with that thing in years.  I just started flying again recently.  RC cars, xmods and what not are fun, but flying planes and heli's is much more enjoyable.
