Well, this is going to be fun...My wife now hates me.

;)  Well, After looking at it from her perspective....I can understand. LOL  One upper radiator hose leak has translated into a brand new aluminum Fluidyne radiator, a new aluminum t-stat housing, a new black magic electric fan, 2 more guages, .... :giggle:  1 180* t-stat, a new water pump, all new cooling hoses.....Oh yeah... i'm in trouble.  i Tried to justify how i went to the parts store to get an ECT sensor, and an upper rad hose....but it didnt work. :rollin:  I just fuigered..."Well, since the cooling system needs a drain......Why Not get it all done at once?"

SOOOOO.... It looks like I have my work cut out for me.... both under the hood....and.....LOL well, under the hood, so to speak:tg:

HAHAHA I'm so F*&KED:rollin: :hick: :flame:

d00d. that is why

1. you need the secrect stash of fun money stored away from not eating lunches or just saving change and dollars left over and when you "fix" the hose, she has no clue about the rest of the stuff cause cars bore her,

or
2. DO IT OVER TIME MAN!! MY GOD WHAT WERE YOU THINKING! SHE IS GOING TO KILL YOU AND BURY YOUR BODY IN A GARBAGE DUMP AND WE WILL NEVER SEE YOUR CAR (or you) AGAIN!!! NOOOOOOOoooooo.......

LOL yeah, it is easier to Ask forgiveness....especially because of two reasons:

1.  Right now, its our only working car

2.  I'm about to rebuild a transverse V6 for her car.....Namely a Chevey Beretta Z26 (1994 vintage) LOL

Car is actually in good shape...just blew either a head gasket or that  lower intake gasket. 3100's are known for that, at least the older ones.  Shes planning on doing "all sorts of stuff" to this car, so I told her "thats fine, as long as i get to do "Stuff" to my TC."  So, i have a fall back position.  LOL There might be a 3400 or 3800 swap in the future, along with either a supercarger or a turbo...5 speed convert, and some suspention goodies.  And since I'm going to be showing her how to do all this, it basicly means I'll be doing it....... so with average shop labour at 55 bucks an hour.....I think I'm entitled to a few goodies...LOL I just like to get paid in advance!

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

The 3800 is gonna need some rewiring if not mounts and such. Not entirely too sure what is needed to get it into an L body but in a J body it is a lot of work. You would be better served with dropping in a 3400 from a later GAGT. That engine would basicly be a plug and play option. Hell instead of doing the rod bearings and such just go straight to the 3400 its a direct swap for the 3100 with a few extra HP.
