Its one of the Boyd'S Colors in a spray can, want to say black and blue pearl but its been a while. The chevelle looks much better in person. the pics make the paint look thin on the edges for some reason. i do love the color as well.. thanks

Ok, I did these around the time they first came out so I was probably 13 or 14.  The 57 was done when I was 14 or 15.  That explains the dust and imperfections.  I never learned how to use a spray gun, just the regular spray cans for the big parts and toothpicks for the small details (dash s, lettering, etc).

Cougars; Nice work. Swiffer dusters work great and the outside and a can of computer/electronics cleaner (kinda like aerosol) does the interior. Then pick up a few clear cases and you'll never have to dust again.

Thanks.
Yeah, those things would have probably worked for semi-annual cleaning but after 15 years, the dust has "become one with the car."  Also, these cars have probably only been out at the most, half of the time since they were built.  The other half, if not more, have been spent in boxes which is why there is not even more dust.  I don't think I've built a model since that '57.  I think that was the last one I've touched which was some time around 1991 or 1992.  I built that as a cake-topper for a huge cake with a '50's theme.  Sure would make for better pictures without the layers of dust though. :hick:
Anyway, my models bring the standard down so maybe some others won't be afraid to post after seeing all of the other models posted in this thread.  For instance, that "rusted" beater truck is awesome.

Great looking models guys :D
I've completed about 50 or so myself. I'll get some pics of 'em up here later. No, I'm not going to post 50 individual pictures but I will put up a group shot of all of them together along with some idividuals of my favorites.

My first model, my dad showed me how to build models using this one as our first one so obviously, he had a hand in it.  Probably around 1985. This one spent a few years out on display as noted by all the dust:

The first model I did on my own, probably around 1986, notice the thick brushed on paint.  This one went to school with me a few times so you know it had to have been held together with a lot of glue:

I think I was about 10 or 11 years old ('87-'88) when I did this one (molded in body-color hence the smooth finish):

12 or 13 years old when I did this, again - brushed on the black paint:

I did more during that 7-year or so time span from the mid 80's to early 90's, some of which I still have as well.  Some others have been unfinished projects since that time that I still have and yet others I still have from that time, haven't even been unwrapped.

Okay, you asked for it. :D
Here are most of them. Not all. Anybody want to see any details of one, let me know and I'll take more pics.

Most of these were done between the ages of 11 and 17. I haven't really had time to work on any over the past few years. Many are missing parts, which I have laying around. I need to perform a restoration on most of these.
I have a few that I haven't started yet as well as many works in progress. I have also built about 15 or so Nascar kits which I didn't picture here.

^A couple of my works in progress.
The green '89 GT is a parts car incase an '87-'88 cougar model comes out so I can make a clone of my car.
The black '64 1/2 will become a drag car. Most of its parts will be used so I can make a replica of my Fairlane. The Thunderbolt parts from the Fairlane kit will go onto the Mustang
The Charger is just an ongoing experiment.

^A few of my metal body models. Not much needed on the exterior but a few small details. Most of my work was put into the motors and interiors.

I'll just stick with the models. My diecast collection consists of well over 1,000 cars, trucks etc. And since more than half of them are Nascar collectibles, I probably have about 200 T-birds.

Here's a post I made a while back about one of my plastic TC's.
