seat latches

does anyone know if there is a way to fix the broken seat latches that seem to be broken in every t-bird/cougar?  I was in the local salvage today and picked up a set of near mint raven TC seats but just like my old seats the latches dont work. please help

You mean they don't latch, or they don't unlatch? IIRC, they're not supposed to latch unless the car stops suddenly (they have anv inertia lock mechanism). If they don't UN-latch it could be something in the mechanism. Mine on the passenger side was broken forever until I reupholstered the seats and found a piece of glass left over from the first break in jamming the release...

I thought they were supposed to latch when the seat was in the upright position therefor making you unlatch them to lean the seat forward.  I may be wrong though
