You'll hate me now for sure...

Well, I did it.  I've officially begun the process of modding the Neon.  I just completed the transaction of ordering a cold air intake for it.  Good news is, after the money I had saved in my PayPal account it only cost me a few dollars for shipping.

Here is the one I bougt.  Sure, it's a cheapy one, but I'm mainly getting it for the sound.  Very rice-ly of me, isn't it?  Hope you all don't kill me for it, but I just couldn't see spending any more money towards the t-bird when I have about $600 worth of parts just waiting to be installed on it.  And, I can guarantee you when I get that school refund check (any day now) a part of it goes toward fixing the busted rear end for it.

You'll never catch me buying a bodykit for anything, unless it's a Motorsport kit for my T-bird and it's cheap.

My long-term dreams for the car include a turbo kit, etc, but I doubt that will happen.  Once I get a real job I'll probably trade it in before it's 100% paid off and get a Charger or somethin'.  All just dreams for now though.

I'm getting the CAI to drown out the whiny pissant sound the car makes now.  I remember how different my t-bird sounded once when I drove it (pre-exhaust work) with the air cleaner lid loosened.

Just keep in mind no matter what you do it's still a NEON.  Unless its an SRT4 you will get no respect modding it.  Even if it is an SRT4 you get very little.

Meh, who cares, as long as he's happy with it.

Go and buy the dynomax exhaust pipe kit, which is 2.5", stock a stock style cat on there, and a superturbo ler, and you should sound decent, and pick up a few horses there too.

A person can say that about any single car on this planet.  Even an Enzo Ferarri.  "Eh, it's cool I guess, exotic and stuff, but he didn't do any of the work himself."  People like to put down makes and models they don't like by belittling them with "it's just a [insert car name]."  Back when I used to drive my '84 LTD around with Mustang 10-holes on it, I caught a lot of shiznit for it.  "Why did you waste nice wheels and tires on that grandma car?"  "It's just a grocery getter."  Before I had this Neon, I hated them with a passion.  Why?  Hell, it's called a Neon, named after a gas and/or beer sign.  I laughed and scoffed at them too, but I've seen the kind of work that can be done and it's quite impressive.  I'll probably never put down 300 at the wheels, or for that matter, even 150, but it feels good knowing that others are doing so.

Doesn't matter to me anyway.  I don't need anyone's respect.  If I cared about people's thoughts on me, I wouldn't be driving a red Dodge Neon around, now, would I?  I'd have to get a big pen 15-enhancing Dodge Ram or a Ford F-350 with smokestacks.  Good thing about having such a minion pissant car is that it seems to keep the police forces at bay.  With tons of others just like mine running around, it doesn't seem to stand out as much as say, my '85 Bird would.
