Yeah, I'd like to see a change. The best part about a changing header would be not just for us who are members of the board but the visitors.
It would give visitors a glance at a sample of our cars. They can see what some of us do with them just by looking at the top of the board.
They will also see that Cobra wheels are not the only wheels that fit the T-Bird/Cougar, and that there are a variety of models. Not just an 87-88 TC and an 87 XR-7.
Who knows if someone has one of these cars that isn't in perfect condition unlike the ones currently in the header, they may feel more at home to see a members primered or multicolored car up there meaning they may feel better about joining and partiting.

5.0willlgo has a point and so does baxo. Its all about being familiar and feeling at home. Some visitors see those and think "rich people". There are alot of peoples point-of-views you have to consider. Anything works for me, Im fond of those two though.

Just make a banner that has the progresion of the bird and cougar from the 81? to 88. Then have the title and links in the middle. This would give visitors an idea of what a fox bird or cougar is.

They would find that out by reading the actual content. You don't need to put a history lesson in a top banner. Just something that looks good and adds to the site's presence.

I think I can speak for EVERYONE on this board that is if you own a Cougar or a Thunderbird YOU ARE NOT RICH! Sorry these are rich peoples cars even when the were on the showroom floor!

How about Eric's Cougar since it is one of a kind and Hawk's TBird since it is one of a kind? The blue and white should get attention. It gets beat looking at the same header all the time. It's not like we get alot of recognition owning these cars. We are the ones that are keeping them alive!

Agree 100%.  They would learn what they need by the content of this board as well as exploring critical sites such as Eric's and Carmen's as well as other users personal sites. I'm not saying to put everyones car up there or put an example of every specific model but a little variety wouldn't hurt.

OK, I have a game plan for what we can do that should satisfy everyone here, plus make it attractive for noobs. I think having one Cougar and one T-Bird on each photo should be a prerequisite (gotta keep things fair, right?). I mean...this is the Fox T-Bird/Cougar Forums. ;)

Also, we will use cars from the general pull of this board, and will put the owner's screen name, year and model on that part of the photo. That way, if a noob has a question about a particular car, there's the screen name for an IM. And that should head off any redundant questions about "Whose car is that up at the top?"

So...I suppose the only thing left to figure out is...whose cars will get chosen to represent...and that's not my battle. I'm just the artist. Y'all figure that part out, post the pix here, and I'll make the banners.

Great idea Eric, but is there going to be enough room up there for all that info? Larger header?

Oh, and if you want us to post pics here, what are the size limitations etc.?

We can make the header as large as we want, but I am going to keep it to just under 800 pixels wide, which will accommodate smaller screens (like a 12" laptop). So it will grow a bit wider, and possibly a little taller, but otherwise it won't be a huge change from now.

For the photos...what's in your signature is just fine. Let's say no smaller than 250 pixels wide. I have plenty of ways to work magic in Photoshop. ;)

heres an idea.....    group a cougar and a bird together with the owners screen name from two different users and have a rotating banner like that with the currently active people or the people that have taken interest in this post.
