I think the best way to deal with it would be for whiners to SUCK IT UP! These issues only matter to the bitchees.

Unfortunately, the existence of bitching (in another thread) about things like post count would seem to contradict your statement that we're all just here to have fun and enjoy our cars..

... and that's something I don't understand either. Bitching online about "someone" just doesn't make any since. What does it prove? I can understand if someone gets on here and bitches about their car or FoMoCo. That's what this site if for. Right?

Sorry if I offended anyone, but lately I've been speaking my mind a little bit.

Peace luv chicken,

DW

You're going to have to ask stuntmannick why post counts were enough of an issue to bitch about now.. especially since I don't think it's been an issue before, since we moved to this forum. (can't speak for the old forum, was only there a couple months before the switchover) In the middle of that conversation is where the rep part came up, and that's why we're here.

If anything annoys me about this whole thing, it's the accusation (and yes, he could be talking about anyone since he didn't name names, but I'll still respond to my part of it) that I/we are only here posting in the Lounge to inflate a meaningless (to us.. not to him, apparently) number. I would hazard a guess that most of us don't give a  about our post counts, certainly not enough to go artificially inflating them in any serious manner. (by "serious" I mean excluding the done-in-jest post count changes by the admins)

Frankly, I get the feeling there's some other gripe at work here with the person who started this, and it's just being vented as something useless and trivial like post counts.

If I cared about post count, I'd have gotten mine transfered from the old board.

And I post in the lounge because, *gasp*, I enjoy talking with people on this board, even when I don't have a tech problem.

Check your User CP.. :p

EDIT: YAY! 2700 posts! A totally arbitrary number (but a good round "00" number) to celebrate, but since we're supposedly just post-whorin' in the Lounge here, why not celebrate it? YAY!

EDIT #2: (totally off-topic) Are the lights you make normally pr0ne to condensation inside the lenses, or did I screw something up? Also had one of the LEDs die already.

I have never heard of any having condensation in them, but it shouldn't hurt them with the electronics encased in resin. As for the dead LED - if a few more die lemme know - your lights are under warranty even though you won them.

Will do.

Right now they're pretty badly fogged up, and of course the lights themselves don't get warm enough to evaporate it. (I tried, today, just for the hell of it)

And why didn't you ship them with the connectors on the lights themselves? :p (it's not a big deal.. I fixed it with on-hand supplies.. had to hack a couple of them off the main harness and use covered blade connectors instead, though)

When the worst one we've had is "i'm gay as hell", I don't think we want to be talking about "bums". :p

I hate to bitch about someone bitching about someone else's bitching, but why can't we all just GET OVER IT already?  Feel free to bitch about my bitching of your bitching about stuntmannick's bitching :giggle:

I would rather see the counter that adds up all the minutes you've been on the board and tells everyone how long you have been online.  They have it over at insanemustangs.  Some of those guys have spent months on that board.  Now that would be something for us to poke fun at each other with.

Jesus, I've been gone for a few days thinking this was over and there's now pages of discussion!  Guess I touched a soft spot :D  Anyways, it's not that big of a deal to me anymore (It was that time of the month for me).  I got the idea from a different board that has, to me, the ideal lounge.  What i realize is it's not the post counts that make lounges what they are, it's the people.  It was just an idea.
