Yeah, I was suprised about that too. It well run slightly better on 93 octane..but no pinging on 87. The funning thing is that when I put my HO motor in, the distributor was cracked so I yanked it and slid my old distributor in as close as I could get it. Once I got the car running(didn't check the timing for like 6months after-I was lazy for a while), it was dead on 10 degrees base, I cranked it to 14*, then at the track one day, I cranked it a little more...too bad my timing pointed had fallen off on my way to the track
So, I may be giving up a little power by running too much advance... I need a timing pointer...lol.
