H-pipe, will it work?

I've been watching the same H pipe for my 88 Sport (5.0). I have the headers. I took my Bird to a ler shop to diagnose posible broken pipe. The Y pipe is broken right at the Y but is held up by a cross bracket about a foot behind the y and ahead of the lers.

The tech pointed out the fact that the AOD linkage will be in the way of the driver side of the H pipe if I try to do it.

Any tips on what to do?

Larry B.

P.S. Could you reply to my Email address as well as here in case I don't get back here for a while? I need to decide to stay stock or try the H. Thanks.

We've chatted about the problem a few times.
Some interfere, some don't.
Here's one from a couple of months ago (my stuff at the bottom)...

Death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

1988 5.0 Bird, mostly stock, partly not, now gone to T-Bird heaven.

Thanks. I have seen that stuff in the past but couldn't find it last night. I think i will help a lot, but I will probably have more questions soon.

Thanks again.

amooset: The 5.0 H-pipe will work on the 94-97 3.8 mustang headers, ive gotten ahold of 2 differnet people that ran buisness' based on 3.8L's, and they told me that the h-pipe will work, but it takes a little bit of force, and when its installed, itll sit slightly crooked, but it works
It's Gumby's fault.
