Fuel injected n2o users Problems........

got some problems...................................here is the setup

edelbrock performer selonoids

N.O.S fogger 2 nozzle

-4 to fuel selonoid from schrader valve

-4 feed to n2o selonoid

N.O.S 61 down from 62

FUEL 57 up from 35

What I am having problems with is severe detonation wich sounds like a rod knock.decrease the fuel jet and it gets worse the larger the fuel jet the less noise. So I have increased the fuel size until it has gotten quiter :nono:

timing is at 12*deg initial on 93 octane gas

Is this happening throughout your entire RPM range?  Your computer (if you still have EEC-IV) might be giving too much advance.....

Very likely, need to pull the timing back to 8* or so... Is this a SO 5.0??? If so likely you need to jet it 2-3 sizes richer on the fuel as well.. Or pull some of the juce.

Assuming a SO 5.0 does it have the stock pump?? If so it will have to be upgraded, they are only 60lph to begin with. Probably less with age.

yeah I worked on it today.......

ended up with 26* total timing insted of 32* total

had to change the fuel pump to a larger unit and now all is ok.:D

still have some very light detonation so i am going to swap in some colder plugs tommorow.....

I blame most of it on these e6 heads:flame:

speaking of fuel pumps it had the oddest on i have seen on any fox chassis car... A bosch pump with a pulsator on top and a 1/4 inet and a huge sock on the end ....It was about twice the diameter of the 255 walbro i put in its place..

Yea my '87 Sport had on of those.... You just about can't hear them run...

Also unless you have a MSD or something similar, close the plug gap down to .030-.032... Mine just bucked and spit till I did.
