What "flavor" of 5.0 in an '87 F150?

Does anybody know what "flavor" of 5.0 would have been put in an '87 F150?  Carbed, FI, SO/HO?  I may have an opportunity to get one very reasonably and wondered if it would be worth it for the motor.  I think it does need a rebuild from the way it sounds.  Thanks for the info.

Fuel injected,  E7 heads, non roller cam that has the SO firing order, truck only intake (won't fit under passenger car hoods--the upper is very tall), 19 pound injectors, Bank/Batch fire injection computer system (fires all 4 cylinders of a bank together HO and SO are SEFI)

Although your question was already answered, according to this Consumer Guide to Used Cars thing I have (from '97), in '87 the only engine in the F-series trucks to be fuel injected was the 302. The 300 had a 1-barrel, the 351 had a 2 barrel, and the 460 had a four barrel. Weird eh?

Well that info is wrong for '87, they were ALL fuelies... I even had a '87 E150 with FI and the 300 6cyl.

In '86 it would be correct except for the the 2bbl 351, They were 4bbl, like the 460. I take my info from the factory Engine/Emissions Diagonstics manuals. Just by luck I have the '86 & '87 issues of it.

Well that sucks...I guess I can't rely on that book for credible information (I'd been using it as a sort of reference for some vehicles I looked at in the paper)
