Whatever flops out of her mouth, there are a few million women ready to agree. Still, I don't see her as that bad of a person. She does consistently try to help others through her media conglomerate. Whether it's the right help is debatable. She's still doing more than I presently can and has changed a lot of lives for the better.Border guards: They have every right to defend themselves. I totally agree that they should be armed. The Canadian government, apparently, thinks that clubs and pepper spray are all that they need. I do agree with Debbie's opinion in that respect. Read the link and post your opinion Reply #7 – November 14, 2005, 01:54:21 PM I personally believe that Oprah thinks too much of herself, and because of her celebrity status everybody is falling over themselves backwards to please her - witness the Pontiac G6 stunt, where she "gave away" all those cars. I don't watch her show, and I think that it is given too much attention, but with regard to her opinions, they are hers alone, and it's called freedom of speech, if you don't like it don't watch it. The website that you pointed to is on the other side of the spectrum, and I don't really know what to make of it, I think that perhaps the lady there is a bit jealous and is hiding it under the guise of this criticism.Edit: I read the main page, and I think that this Schlussel lady is just trying to stir the waters, somewhat like Bill O'Reilly - now there's an interesting thought, how come Mr. O'Reilly has never picked on Oprah before if she's so bad. But anyway, I think that if this had been two decades ago, she'd have been writing about the Communist threats, and calling everyone Pinko Commie s or somesuch name. Quote Selected
Read the link and post your opinion Reply #8 – November 14, 2005, 03:02:30 PM all of the right wing and left wing talking heads should all just shut thier big pie holes. they are all just puppets for one side or the other, what both contries need are some leaders that actually try to help their voters instead of helping thier own power base. what happened to the middle, the extreme 10% on either end seem to think everyone should think like them. I like guns and hunting and fast cars, I also think trees and helping the poor are good.. can't I have both? Quote Selected
