speedometer cables...

okay...fox mustangs and up to later mustangs had a cable speedometer. the newer mustangs switched to a electrical later on.

is it the same as the tbirds? the tranny im looking at has either a mechanical speedo sutup or electic, not both. i asume ill be getting the electronic one....just wondering if ill have to change anything.

I think they're interchangeable, and bolt on/in the same way.
Either the gear drives a cable, or just spins the sensor.
Here's a py too-small pic of mine... the sensor wiring is offset to the side, and I think the yellow ring is the end of the driven gear's shaft.

on my 84 bird the cable goes into the speed ssensor and the sensor goes into the tranny.
