Pics of my 86 TC

Hi everyone..

Back in a TC after a couple years away from them.. I've been driving a Classic 71 LTD but with gas prices soaring I decided to search for a clean TC again..

I found a one owner 86 5 speed in Arizona with 50,560 on it and after a couple phone conversations with the owner we settled on a price and made shipping arangements.

Car is super clean.. and he included a trunk full of extra parts that I wasn't expecting as part of the deal. He included a complete rear disc conversion kit, NOS AC compressor, NOS motorsport 140 mph speedo, complete set of 6 Koni orange shocks/struts, service manuals, 6 Infinity Kappa speakers and more.. what a great surprise that was~

Here's a couple pictures of it ~

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

This car will get very few mods (and probably none to the exterior).. it's just too nice to butcher up..

It's a 5 speed car, no power roof, no leather. It's incredibly tight and solid..really close to showroom. The original owner added a large aluminum radiator and the '50 state illegal' tint back in 1986. He also had a (then) very high end Alpine setup installed including a 7272 AM/FM/Cass deck and a seperate DIN sized 5900 CD player where the system sentry was. (He included the original radio and sentry with the car)

This weekend I removed all the Alpine stuff and installed a Sony cdx5710 and the new Infinity speakers he sent. I also put the system sentry back where it belongs. Stereo sounds great and I like that the sentry is back in.

The only performance mods I've made so far was to add a K&N cone filter and a Gillis boost . I set the gillis to 17psi and the car pulls great.

I plan on freeing up the exhaust at some point but for right now the car is just a joy to drive.

I already sold the disc conversion kit and the 140 speedo.. I'm going to sell the Konis next as the car sits nice and handles fantastic as it is.

Here are a couple more pictures..

Interior :

Under car ( so rust free :D  ) :

Big radiator :

At the Atlantic ocean last weekend :

I took some more pictures as I did the stereo job and also the Gillis, I just haven't uploaded them yet from the camera.

The car will get put in the garage for the winter as soon as the first threat of snow comes.. Over the winter I plan on detailing under the hood. It's very clean and grime free but It hasn't been touched since the car was new so it's dusty and I'd like to repalce all the belts and hoses and get everything looking showroom under there.

Thanks for the comments~

Very cool TC.  Nice and clean.  How much did you give for it, if you don't mind me asking?

I don't mind saying how much.. It was a heck of a deal :D

He was asking $4500 but after the phone conversations, some Tbird bonding and assurances that the car would continue to be garaged and in good hands.. $3150.

That included all the free stuff as well..

I don't care what Kelly Blue Book says it's worth.. ($1115) I feel like this was an incredible deal.. Even at $4500 it was fair for the condition of the car, the history, and the extras. (it also came with all service records, window sticker, warranty cards, build sheet etc.. Car has all original paint, drivetrain and interior)

The more I drive it, the more blown away I am by the condition and how nice the guy kept it..
