Selling Car VERY Soon, Need Brutally Honest Opinions...

Ok, soon, and I mean VERY soon, I will be selling my 87 3.8L V6 Thunderbird in order to get the money I need to purchase a Turbo Coupe. I've simply had enough with this automobile, and have decided to get rid of it in order to fufill my 3 month dream of having a Turbo. I want the Power...badly.

Since everyone here seemed to suggest that the Stock 302 that came with the Thunderbird is less powerful than the Turbo Coupe, I have come to the conculsion I must get one of those cars no matter what. So, with that said, I want your opinions on how much you think I could or should get from this car:

(Yes, there is some cosmetic damage in the front, and yes, I used some colored duct tape on the sun visors, and yes, there is a Turbo Coupe emblem on the trunk, but that's it!)

Opinions please? I've tried my best to keep the interior as clean as possible since I got it from the previous owners. Believe me, it looked like scum when I first purchased it.

I hate to say it,  But with the front damage regardless how easy it is to fix people are going to look down on that.but being a 3.8 assuming it runs good, is a plus noone cares for the 5.0 bird they are slow, but the 3.8 would make it good for a kids first car.  I got my 85 for 800 bucks the body was in better condition but the interior was horrible, If you can get a front end from a  junkyard you could prolly get 800-1000 out of it,  Like it sits now i would try to talk you down from 500.

I agree with t-bird85's pricing.  I would deffinately slap a new header panel on it even if it doesn't match.  You should be able to get one from a junk yard pretty cheap.  You may spend 30 bucks on it and a few hours but you will prob. be able to get several hundred more for the car.  Most people buying cars don't want something with that kind of ugly damage.  People are going to see that and yak.

yep...sadly they arent worth much. even fixed i cant see it bring more than 800 - 100 if your lucky. hell, if you can save 3 grand that seems to buy almost any tbird out there. dont knowck the 5.0s too much if you get an 87-88. its easy to mod them and the HO is practically a drop in. cant co wrong with a clean turbo coupe though. just watch out for the beat.neglected or scummy ones. those generally are alot of trouble. seems to me the turbo coupes are either peices of  or they have been realy well taken care of. not too many right in the middle around here. not too many nice ones left either.

I'm going to have to agree.  Fix the header panel even if you don't want to.  It will net you another couple hundred out of the car at least.  Also, how many of those gauges actually work?  I noticed your tach doesn't even have a needle.

Heh, $500? The reason I was asking was because someone I know was willing to pay me $1500 for the car without fixing anything. Hearing all of this, I think I will be selling much sooner....

Yes. Take the money and run like the wind. That is an outstanding amount for that car. That someone is a moron but they probably don't know too much about these cars so...
I feel bad for them getting ripped but as the reciever of the money, all is good.
