Tightening up the steering

Ok, the TC has this problem. It's got luxury car steering. To easy and no feedback!! I'm looking for steering more like the Mustangs I had, and my SHO. Something with tension there, and good feedback. Is this in the pump or the valving in the rack? Can I swap a Mustang rack and get what I'm looking for?

I thought all TC's came with a 15:1 rack. Maybe someone swaped in a 20:1 on yah. :)

its rather funny, my power steering was run without fluid for a few months before i got it...now the steering is night and tight and responsive

the 14.7 racks are better than the 18:1 (?) racks that came in the earlier cars, but theyre still kinda squishy feeling
It's Gumby's fault.

the rack is VERY responsive, but I have no feedback whatsoever. I mean, I can nearly blow on the steering wheel and it will turn.

I know it was changed once. Actually, not long before I got it.

So, I have one from a donor Mustang. It's a '90 LX. Will it work?

Yes it will. Whether it's a 15.:1 rack or not is another question.

either turn the steering wheel lock to lock or it's stamped on there somewhere. i remember seeing it but i don't remember where. sorry.

20:1 - 2 3/4 turns lock to lock
15:1 - just under 2 turns lock to lock.

got that info from eric's site. http://www.coolcats.net/tech/advanced/steeringrack.html
