any suggestions?

wtf this is the second set of springs i got for my car and they are still to low. they are suspension techniques for a v8 83-88 car lowering 1/2 - 1-1/2" and they dropped it like 3+"... i dont even have any ac components, i have an aluminum radiator, no emmissions, long tube headers, even with the battery out its way to low. everyone iv seen has like a 2 finger gap when they use em, im about to get some c springs but i figured sence i could get the ST springs i would jump on it...

hey manson your in jersey right? look up brunswick spring they used to be based out of new brunswick but now moved to perth amboy. talk to the guys tell them what you want. they can find the rite spring for your or make the spring you want. they were gonna do my back springs but i totaled my car. . so give that a try . or some spacers

i'v been buisy, but hear is a pic. the problem realy isnt the lowness as much as my extended front track width. at first the lip of the fender was contacting the tire just sitting there. now its so that i can cup my hand around the tire, and move it across between tire and fender. their is basicaly a inch of up/down movement available for suspension travle. im not switching to mustang arms tho, so i'll have to figure something else out. what realy gets me tho is that iv tryed 2 types of spring that were basicaly considered safe, with terrable results. the one on it now i have seen on heavyer cars with a taller ride height to. im compleatly stumped... and i have all the parts on to. its not like i forgot the spring isolators.

ya got me worried now man...i havnt ordered the front arms or the springs yet but was planning on in another week or so....i hope it pans out...

any chance you could pm or post a pic of the car like it is from further away showing the whole car? that would be helpfull...

So i'm curious, I think I saw a pic of some kind of spacer you installed for your struts. Could that possibly be the cause of your problems? Just looking at it and how low your car really is makes me wonder if it's just being pulled down to far by that thing and perhaps if you removed it it would raise up a little bit.

I'm prolly wrong, just figured i'd throw out the idea.

the only spacer i have in the front end is a 1/4" piece of steel plate on top of the spring pirch above the k-member to fill the gap. i used a mustang k member so i'd have a good selection of motor mounts and they are a close fit, but not exact. the only thing i did to my struts is put in fox kyb's and mm cc plates. was any of them the spacer you were talking about?

I think it was in the pic that you had of the C/C plates that had the shot of some spacer between the plate and the nut on the top.

well i think some of your problem is that the spacers are supposed to go under the plate they are used to adjust how much of the stut sticks out of the plate, on my bird i had one on top and the rest underneath, does your hood even shut?

That's the picture i'm thinking of. It the spacer that's between the nut and the C/C plate.

if the strut is the cause it would be very easy to find out. disconnect it at the top and see what happens. that IS a lot of spacers.... i think i used one at the top. i could used none but MM says to use at least one so i did.

maybe those cobra control arm cups are deeper than regular tbird arms.
