Re: a stupid sway bar question Reply #1 – September 30, 2005, 07:51:21 AM I don't know about "wearing out" but they do break. Quote Selected
Re: a stupid sway bar question Reply #2 – September 30, 2005, 12:47:26 PM If by wear out, or get "tired", you mean the bar changes its equivalent spring rate...no. A poorly designed bar could "set" and begin to give your car a lateral preload. I've never heard of a Ford sway bar doing so. Quote Selected

Re: a stupid sway bar question Reply #4 – September 30, 2005, 08:15:15 PM I have a 87 TC and the front is 1 5/16 but the rear is 13/16"I also have a rear one here for a 89 Mustang GT and it is 7/8" so maybe they changed it in 1988?As a side note I took my front one off today because I was going to go to the track and it weigh 23 pounds. Also removed the fog lights and those babies were 3 1/2 pounds each (total 7 pounds), you would not believe the bracket that Ford used to hold these on.TED Quote Selected

Yeah, they definitely over-engineered those things. Kinda like the factory VAM bracket. Quote Selected
