Yeah just order it for a 90 crown vic. I got one for mine with a 91 crown vic pulled at the junk yard as a core. Cost me like $45

90-92 Mark VIIs and 1993 Mustangs used the hi-torque mini starterr...shouldn't be too hard to find one at a boneyard.

same headers i have on my 88

you can use the factory starter it is tight but fits ok

there is interferance with the motor mounts and with the steering shaft a small hammer will fix that no problem

what is sad it is tighter with a 302 then the ones on my 429

Looks real sweet. Looks like a great project lined up for the coming winter!

But from Blown's pics those headers are definitely going to be tight!

What car are you putting this beast in?

This is going into my 3.8L bird, the red one.

I just got an HO upper intake assembly, some 19# injectors, and the HO valve covers today

ill spend some time tomorrow cleaning up, and hopefully getting my friend to bead blast em for me, along with the lower and the timing cover

i couldnt grenade my 3.8 if i wanted to

i severly overheated it twice, theres a few threads around about it, but i drove it at about 95mph, temp gauge pegged, lost all coolant, TWICE, each time for over 20 minutes, and the thing still starts and runs with a fresh battery, but with my luck, the day i take it up the street, my headgaskets will pop

so its time for more power, and time for something more reliable

hell. you want reliable get a I6, my mom (bless her stupid heart) drove my capri 40 miles with no oil, spun 2 bearings. I had to get it home, so i drove it with 2 spun bearings 80 miles, it was still getting 35lbs of oil pressue before i rebuilt it, and the bearings were THRASHED! now that is a tough motor.

if i was really worried about reliability, id pick up an old 80's chevette, my aunt did everything in her power to kill hers, she drove it through a shallow pond, id died in the pond, the pulled it out, pulled the plugs, turned it over a few times, threw the plugs bag in, and drove it home

we had a 1980 bright orange chevette. the only thing that ever when wrong on that little 4 banger was one lifter when bad during cross country vacation trip. there were 4 of us in that thing in 1983, mom, dad, me and sis.. that was one of the best cars we ever owned. had it for 13 years and put almost 300K on it. front end finally just fell out of it and we junked it. my sister cried, it was the only car she ever remeber from when she was a kid (got it when she was 1 for gods sake)

shortly, ill have a list of the things i can remember that i need for my swap, so i can start tackling those little items

so far, if i remember correctly, ive spent nothing on this engine, other than...2 bucks

Head Bolts
spark plugs
plug wires
upper motor mount brackets
fuel rail extension
water pump and bolts
alternator bracket
TV cable assembly or T5 setup
serpentine belt
electric fan and controller
battery tray and cables (for now, itll end up in the trunk)

since most of this stuff isnt going to be a factory setup (water pump, alt bracket, belt), ect, ill actually have to buy it, but the TV cable, fuel rail extensions, and the other small stuff i might run into will be easy to get ahold of
