Katrina Pics(56k no no)

These pics were taken in Slidell, LA just north of lake Ponchartrain. Unfortunately you wont see these pics on the news, and this town(which actually got the worse of the storm) has really been ignored by the media. Its unfortunate that Gulport, Slidell and the rest of the Gulf Coast towns that were demolished by the storm have gotten no coverage while New Orleans is all over the news. Just another reason to see why the news is useless anyway.

The railroad company I work for sustained quite a bit of damage, and we went down there to get the signals back up and establish a means of communication(microwave tower). I was down there for a total of 13 days, so its nice to see civilization again.

Now some work pics...

Bridge over lake Ponchartrain where we lost 5.8miles of track into the water and lost all the signal cases.

This is them picking up the track and placing it back onto the bridge.

This is us fixing a crossing/signal where the signal case was totally gone.

We later found the signal case on top of a dually and trailer which the guy down the road owned.

This is on the levee looking onto the lake.

More of the levee, we have track on the lake side of the levee.

This is a high tension pole that snapped.

Can you find the alligator??

Mid air refuel!!
