how can you tell what year of engine you have?

It helped that it said "86 Tbird" on it in grease pen

you can usually tell by the valve cover, 83-84 have on style, 85-86 has another, 87-88 has another, and the intake manifolds
It's Gumby's fault.

Well frist one i would not pay 3000US for it, I could get one like that in canada for 1500 to 2000 easy,

2nd one is at 6500 US and its a very nice car but its still not anything more then what it is.  That car would go for 4500 here and seeing how 4500 here works out to what around 3000US,

But its same with other makes of cars people think there on a gold mind when its just a car, and its only worth what other ones like it are going for.

I got my TC for $1250 from an older guy who was the car's third owner...Sure, the engine was covered in oil and some rust on the rear quarter panels behind the tires, but it had a good straight body and had never been wrecked, and he had all the receipts and records of ALL the maintenence he had done (it had 121K on it when I bought it). I still think it was a good buy :)

Oh, and speaking of over-valued cars, here's one I see ALL the time...Monte Carlo SS's. I still don't get why people think they can sell such an un-special car for $6500.
