Front fender side marker lights?

I looked at a 1987 Turbo coupe for sale and it had front fender side marker lights.  I thought it looked kind of funny and did not remember seeing them on my 87.  Sure enough mine don't have them.

Was this a option?  Why did some have them and some did not?  I kind of like it without them but that's just my opinion.

Thanks

yes it was an option. It is to light up the area that you are turning into. there are more cars without them than with them.

It's part of the lighting package. And I wouldn't have it any other way. You wouldn't believe how much you miss the turning lamp when it's gone. How many cars let you see around corners? Also had light up door lock (key) surrounds, and the interior lights that stayed on, I think.

I don't especially like the looks of the corner lamps, but they sure easy to get use to having. Would kinda like to have them on the white TC, but they ain't gonna make it any faster...

i personally love em. they may not be as good looking or clean looking but they realy are nice to have...

some of you guys that dont have them should take a look inside the fender area for the harness...i think most of the cars were wired for them with the bulb socket clip included. ive seen 2 that didnt have the light itself in the fender but they were wired for it. one of them was a very base lx 87 tbird. i took a bulb with its socket out of another one and clipped it into the harness and it worked. so, im willing to bet, as specially you 88 guys that if you wanted them all you would need is the light itself and the moulding....

I know its not a 88 only thing. My 84 T/C has them and it also has the keyleess entry. I also have the lighted door locks and yes the dome light stazy on until you put the key in and turn it to the on position.

both of my 87's have them, base 3.8L car, and TC

it came in a lighting package, which around here seems more common than not having it
It's Gumby's fault.

Not by the looks of my '87. ;) And Keyless Entry was a seperate option, unless it was a delete on my car.
