another radio question September 06, 2005, 08:57:04 PM do the stock brackets on the stock radio bolt onto most aftermarket radios? so it would be a bolt-in?i jumped the gun and bought an install kit, but then i noticed these brackets on the sides of the stock radio. 87/88 t-bird BTW Quote Selected
Re: another radio question Reply #1 – September 06, 2005, 08:58:55 PM I would use the install kit. The brackets are most likely to be rivited in place on the stock radio. Quote Selected
Re: another radio question Reply #2 – September 06, 2005, 09:21:45 PM I was able to swap out mine. In fact, the side of the radio and the brackets have several different positioned holes and locations for mounting that you can manipulate the mounting bracket to effectively shift the radio further back or forward. Check it out by toying with the mounts to suit your situation. I remember thinking with the Pioneer install--wow glad I noted it. Quote Selected

Re: another radio question Reply #4 – September 07, 2005, 10:08:58 AM On my Pioneer, I put the right bracket on the left, and the left bracket on the right, slightly filed the holes in the plastic dash for the pins to clear, and screwed it in.. Quote Selected
