How much do you think this project would cost?
I'm certainely not goin Diesel.. :giggle:

BTW i just realise this t-bird has 11" front disc power brake... ( those are thick disc... nothing to do with my ex-couar or 5.0 mustang.)
I tought it was 4 drums... I'm impressed and happy because there is 1 less swap to do to the car.... :D

Half of the front end (pass side) is already apart and sanded....

The car odometer show 38,000 miles....

I'm pretty sure they are original just by looking at the frame....
And the front brakes look like new... the disc are at least 1½" tick and suspension is Coil over (stock).

welcome to the older cars bro, both of my cougars are set up the same way on the front minus the dual pistion calipers.

The frame looks good

those ain't coil overs, though - that's called an SLA (short-long-arm) suspension. A true coil over has the spring mounted directly to the shock. Your car has the spring mounted to the control arm and frame, with the shock going up the middle of the coil. Most pre-80's cars were set up this way.

The 89-97 T-Bird/Cougar and older Honda Civics have a coil-over front suspension

Hey , i like the Diesel idea....Imagine Cruising at 85 at 2000 rpm full loaded and trailing a boat and getting 30 Mpg passing a lot of econoboxes at the higway and getting better mileage than most of them......Sounds very good...

Thanks for the clarification.... and yes, the frame is VERY clean... Only minor surface rust... like in the pics from rear to front....
I dont know anything on car older than 1980... The oldest car I owned and worked on was a 1982.... :crazy:

Are these suspension good? What do they worth?
What about those brakes? They look real good IMHO...

Is there a fuse box in that boat? I didnt see any... Anyway, I will redo all the electricals in the car....

The good news is : Everything works!
But most of the motors/accessories doesnt works unless plugged directly :mad:

How do you guys find the idea to put a custom made fuse box in the engine bay? (Or one from a recent car) So I could do a Custom wiring. (yes i will print a diagram of it for future reference...)

the fuse box should be located under the dash on the drivers side. kinda set back in a bit shouldnt be hard to find. also a good place for you to ask questions about the older tbirds would be http://www.tbirdforum.com/ or http://www.tbirdregistry.com there are alot of people there that can answer your questions

if i remember correctly,those are kelsey-hayes disc brakes on the front.the 66 7litre(428police interceptor)galaxie's had those.don't know for sure if its true,but was told by someone that use to have one,that its kinda difficult to find after market wheels to fit that didnt cost an arm and a leg.of course this was over 10 years ago,so i'm sure you would have better luck now.
a 460 would be awesome in that big ole bird.just do what you gotta do and do it well.

I really like those year Tbirds, they have the muscle car look. Aside from the 57 body, those are probably my favorite body tbirds. Yes I said it.

Awesome car, my fav bodystyle aside from the 58-60's had a 69 with the 429 but was too rusty and needed a complete restoration so i had to let it go :disappoin I prefer the 67/68 tail lights though, great price aswell. those cars look awesome lowered just a bit,nice wheels and a neutral paint tone, they really stand out anywhere you go
