Blown tranny?

My tranny has been blow, i have a sports coupe with a 5.0so in it gonna rebuild it soon to ho or swap it. I got a second job recently and can afford to have it rebuilt. What suggestions would you guys recommend? looking something that will handle 300 to 350 horse at the crank, dont wanna fix it and blow it. Will the stock tranny be okay with a standard rebuild or should i go with a special rebuild kit? Or how are rebuilt transmissions ?

i'm clueless in this area. also how much would it run to get fixed?

i would shoot for a good working ho tranny. bc the s.o. one is ok but if your gonna throw power at it . you will be beter off with a working one and "freshen it up" and do research on the shop doing the job. and the shift kit that ur gonna want to throw in it. . bc if i have learnd one thing this year is. you do not want to change your trans like your oil. every 3 months. .. . but my 6cyl trans is holding up to the tired ho in the mustang. and im not to ez on it. just dont shift it . and a good converter will help make it feel alive. maybe if you could find a truck aod and shorten your drive shaft. beter servoes. but my have the low rpm govenor.

If it were my AOD I would upgrade the clutch packs and bands, add a wide ratio kit, new valve body, and upgrade the servos. Get a good torque converter like CougarCoupe88 said and be a happy camper. :) Here's a couple links I use.

get a c5/c6 if you dont want any problems, or overdrive
