Re: Custom burned chips Reply #2 – August 30, 2005, 08:01:25 AM Well, since not all can be burned...you need to be more specific on what you actually have. What mods are done to the car? Besides, unlesss you have a chip flashed while testing the car on the dyno, you don't really know if the tune is going to work for you. Regardless of if two engines are built with the same components, they still won't use exactly the same tune. Quote Selected
Re: Custom burned chips Reply #3 – August 30, 2005, 09:08:21 AM what mods you got on your car 1badchicken? Quote Selected
Re: Custom burned chips Reply #4 – August 30, 2005, 12:47:26 PM the only cars you can get chips for a car with the A9 processors, which is a mass air, HO mustang computer Quote Selected
Re: Custom burned chips Reply #5 – August 30, 2005, 01:03:41 PM and you can always use a program like twEECer instead of a custom chip. Quote Selected

Re: Custom burned chips Reply #7 – August 30, 2005, 10:49:57 PM Ok guys, heres all I got. First off its an 88 5.0 speed density. I wasnt sure if I can even purchase anything for that computer to begin with. Here's why i ask about the chip. If i'm at a dead stop and turn left and hammer it as to slide the car a little bit, it will bog out and when the car gets level (a mere second later) it picks right back up and boogies. I'm not to fuel injection savvy so I spoke to my boss who is the owner of G Body Parts which is a dealer in Grand National parts and he said to through 8 GN injectors in it which are 28lb-ers because the problem is that the car is leaning out at the higher RPM. He told me to get a chip made so i can run the injectors with all my other mods without a problem. I have BBK shorties with a cat-less BBK h-pipe and flowmasters, explorer intake and 65mm t/b, underdrive pulley, electric fan, Cool air intake and a T/C rear with 3.55'sWhat do i need? Quote Selected

Is this 5.0 an HO or the stock SO 5.0 ? Quote Selected

Re: Custom burned chips Reply #10 – September 01, 2005, 01:30:53 PM This isnt a HO motor to my knowledge. What Ford parts? Whats wrong with using the 28# injectors? Quote Selected
Re: Custom burned chips Reply #11 – September 01, 2005, 02:14:02 PM all that you really need to finish the ho converison is an ho cam shaft and the computer. That with the 19 lb fuel injectors would basically get you a stock 225hp mustang engine and fix all of your woes Quote Selected

Re: Custom burned chips Reply #14 – September 01, 2005, 09:12:46 PM Quote from: 1badchickenThis isnt a HO motor to my knowledge. What Ford parts? Whats wrong with using the 28# injectors? It'll run like shiznit and go about half as far on twice as much gas...The bogging problem is because something is wrong, not because the injectors are to small(well they are too small if you want to make any real power, but you'll have to swap computers & cam, if you want to use larger injectors)... As far as a chip for your computer... it ain't happnin'. You already have part of the makings for a HO engine. You should consider doing the HO upgrade with Mass Air. A good set of aluminum heads will make a huge difference, with the larger injectors and computer. Also you said the problem was when turning left, is that the only time??? How much gas you have in it??? These tanks are 22gal., when they have only 6-7 gal of gas it's possible to get a bog under certain conditions. Quote Selected
