Converting to 5 lug(common i know) August 17, 2005, 12:36:18 AM If i take the rear end and from hub assembly out of an 85 ranger can i swap it over to my 84 cougar. There will probably be a little complication i would expect. But would this be a way to do it? Quote Selected
Re: Converting to 5 lug(common i know) Reply #1 – August 17, 2005, 12:31:44 PM The rear end will not bolt in - the Ranger uses leaf springs while your Cougar has a four-link setup with coils. I believe you can use one of the axles (the axles are two different lengths on Rangers) but the whole thing is a no-go. Quote Selected

Re: Converting to 5 lug(common i know) Reply #5 – August 18, 2005, 03:12:31 PM for the front you need to use 89-91 ford aerostar front rotors have the diameter cut down .120 thou "any brake shop can do this on any brake lathe"for the rear i would suggest having them redrilled for the 5 on 4.5 bolt cirlce 1any competent machine shop can do this alsothan run ranger drums > 9 inch drums or have the factory ones redrilled >10 inch drum Quote Selected
