5.0l roller motor?

Is the 5.0l in an 88 bird a roller motor?  The intake manifold plaque just says 5.0l EFI, so how do I determine if it is a roller.  Also, What pistons would it have if it was, wasnt a roller?
                                  Thanx, Josh

So its not a roller motor, ok. The question about the pistons was more along the line of what material they are, forged, hyperutectic, cast?

The 88 5.0 has a roller camshaft. If you want to check, pull off the the lower intake and you will see a 'spider' bracket that holds the roller lifter 'dogbones' in place.

a 88 5.0 is a roller motor but! it does have junk pistons.. oh and all the 5.0 motors inclueding 5.0HO have flat top pistons the diffrence is wheather or not if they have valve releafs and if they are hyperutectic or forged ;)
the only way i know of if the 88 motor is'nt a roller motor is if the motor was replaced with an older 5.0 ;)

The 5.0's installed in 86-88 cougars and t-birds were roller motors with the high swirl e6 heads and flat top pistons.  Some of the 86 and 87 flat tops WERE indeed forged.  Not sure on the 88.  I do know for those years Ford used 3 different brands of pistons.

The HO motors all had valve reliefs and had forged pistons from 87-92.  In 1993 they switched to the hypereutectic design
