I absolutely love the wing on my car, and bought it before you could get an R wing, I like it, and could really care less if anyone does not. As for looking ricey,m whatever, I don't think so. I also know my wing is functional too. At 65 on the highway in the rain, it splatters water on the back window from underneath the wing. I also plan on raising the wing another two inches, or more if they had the extension for it, in the future. Next time I consider what car to buy, or modify, I'll look one of you up...................NOT!:D
And have a nice day.

I'm so happy for you. You can play with whatever toys you want, but not everyone is going to like it.

I happen to think cowl hoods are one of the ugliest, generic, and often riciest things you can put on a street car. But that's my taste. Half the guys on this board either have a cowl hood or want one. All the power to them. Same goes for your Cobra R wing. I'm glad it works for you. You'd never catch something that obtrusive on my car though.

Like was said before, the lines on these cars don't gel with a shelf spoiler that stands up that high, not to mention the shapes are way off. And the wing was wind tunnel tested for the Cobra R, not the 83-86 Cougar. It was designed to work with a fastback, not vertical rear glass.

Bottom line, it's your car. Fill yer boots. Just don't get all pissy when someone decides not to love it. There are probably things about my car that you don't particularly like. I can accept that. I drive a mulletmobile, remember. I catch more flack than you could ever know. The difference is, I chalk it up to personal taste and don't let it bother me.

Have a rice day. :)

Yes, I'm an asshole today.

On a side note, who thinks the Superbird wing looks cool? It's funcional, yes, and it has historical signifigance. Personally, I think it looks ridiculous, and would look even worse on a 1955 Chrysler 300.

BTW,
Nice Mach. I've never seen one that wasn't in red. :headbang:

Victor's car looks MUCH better in person with that wing. I'm neutral on the looks and functionality of the Cobra R wing myself. Sometimes I think it's Ford just giving into a fad, but then if stupid wings weren't all the rage, this one would definitely be one of the classier ones. It was not designed out of haste...there was definitely thought put into it, and on the real Cobra R it's claimed to actually work at track speeds.

I like to say that if you talk the talk, you should be able to walk the walk...in other words, nothing tacked onto the car that isn't functional. Then I went and put a ed cowl hood on the car, with no high-rise intake! D'oh...I hate when that happens.

(At least now I have the tall valve covers and intake spacer...so that means I'm now using the cowl hood for extra clearance). ;)

To each their own...I guess if I don't like the way someone's car looks...well, hope they don't get all pissy when I walk off...
At least he hasn't got plastic GFX and duct tape holiong it on! :D
If he enjoys it, then job well done, he didn't build the car for MY pleasure ;)

Im trying to figure out where you came up with the idea of me using the spoiler. I want a stock looking spoiler. Body wise all I want is the spoiler and body kit of that Cougar I pictured, a custom hood integrating the TC scoops(functional), and the grill will have some work, kinda like Eric's but chrome still but the middle blacked out. Kind of a floating emblem type of style. And I changed the name to Project Cougrrr. So its not "gay" anymore anyways. Plus I like that name better. Sounds mean. Thanks to all the lovers and the haters. To each his own. Let me know what you think.
