Smokey and the Bandit starred a 77 Trans Am were as Smokey and the Bandit II and III Starred an 80 and 81 model. And thunderjet302 did say Smokey and the Bandit, and he spelled it wrong.Sorry to Get technical but just couldn't pass up the chance. :flame: :rollin: :rollin: :rollin: Quote Selected
Re: My dads new project car Reply #23 – August 11, 2005, 07:52:59 AM Part II was with an 80 Trans AmPart III was with an 82 or something( 3rd gen TA).They still made the sencond generation Trans Am in 81. The third movie had a third generation trans am in it. And the third movie sucked royally :DYou will also find that the 80 in the second movie is identical to the one that my cousin has that I posted a pic of on page one. Quote Selected
Re: My dads new project car Reply #24 – August 11, 2005, 09:02:56 AM But of course you're all forgetting the fact that in none of the movies did a Formula Firebird star in. They were all Trans Ams, so wrong year or not, it's the wrong car :D Quote Selected
Re: My dads new project car Reply #25 – August 11, 2005, 11:08:52 AM friends of mine owned an 80 TA "Bandit Special" or some . don't really know much about "those kinda cars" Quote Selected
Re: My dads new project car Reply #26 – August 11, 2005, 04:29:05 PM A little paint and most people won't be able to tell that it ain't a 77 . Jk. I think that it would look good in solid black. One of the guys who delivers supplies to my work has a 78 Trans Am which is getting a 69 GTO Ram Air 400. He's painting the car a light blue and keeping the outside as close to stock as possible. It's going to be a pretty cool sleaper. Quote Selected
