Nice bling!
Too bad it’ll be hard to see .
We’ll be home late April/early May. I’ll have to get my Cobra out of mothballs and take a ride out to see you!

Rick, Let me know when you return to the frigid north!  Maybe we can find a car show midway?

Replaced the starter Saturday.  Nice to be able to drive the car again even though it's too hot out.

Also changed the read end fluid and put the jewelry on the rear end.  So far no leaks.

Yeah. The TBird is currently my only runner w/o AC. I'll drive it on warmer days if I'm sure I'm not going to get stuck in traffic, but it's gonna have to sit this week.  :yuck:

I took it out last night with the A/C on MAX!!!!   Tough to get the car going from a stop without stalling.  Gotta abuse the clutch a little more to get it rolling.  BUT man, does that old A/C blow cold air!  or it's just the small interior.

Edit: for S&G I did a walk around video of the car last night.

Nice vid. That trunk interior liner is nice!  Does he make them for 83-86 cars?

Thank you!

I am not sure if he has gotten the chance to measure the 83-86 trunk lids yet.  I am certain he will work with you though.
here's the thread I made on the trunk

I've gone through two starters this year and need to change it again.

I collected a bunch of parts this summer, but also took over new responsibilities at work so not much extra time of late.  Hopefully things will become easier with time as I get used to the new responsibilities.

Never got to see Rick this summer.   :dunno:

I did get to experience Limerock in my friend's Corvette Z06 with the instructor driving.

SoO on the plate:
PimpX
Larger Injectors
Smaller Turbo (Chip's IHI Plus Turbo).  The T3 Upgrade has too much lag for my taste and back roads here.
Ported Exhaust Manifold
Ported Lower Intake

What are you doing to these poor starters? Lol

Does the PimpX include any turbo control routines? What are you currently running? I know my T3 with the GN cold-side would definitely benefit from something besides a spring/ball manual regulator.

I know after messing with tuning on my Volvo 850 with the turbo control routines in the stock software, it's pretty easy to improve the drivability of a potential over-sized turbo.

I haven't dug into the Pimp stuff, as I just do the MegaSquirt stuff (And my current ones are too old.) so I don't know what he's got built in.

"I Know Nothing!!!!!"
The reman stuff is just junk.  Hopefully my starter ring survives.

There is a control that I bought for the vacuum to the waste gate actuator for the PimpX.  Boost controller solenoid

I am looking forward to getting rid of the VAM.

We use similar Pierburg units on the Volvos. Looks like the capabilities will be similar. :like:

Hi Mikey. Sorry I didn’t make it out your way this summer. My wife and  I were busy dealing with our daughter who was going through some health issues (she’s doing better now) and I had surgery on my left foot in August. Couldn’t drive the Cobra with the clumsy post-surgical shoe.
We’ll get together next summer.
Back in Florida now until April.

Sorry to read, you and your family had a rough summer.  Hope everything is better now.

There were some flurries flying around yesterday so it appears you escaped the Northeast in time.

Do you know what is in common with 1st and 3rd gear in a T5?

Both went missing in my car Sunday night!   :giggle:
