Oh, I still use the spacer, I just don't run coolant to it.  EGR valve and EVP are still in place and hooked up, too, but they're only still there because I'm too cheap to get a plate or cover or anything.  If I just turn it off, all it does is sit there and look pretty.  And keep the EGR system closed.  Form follows function.

This motor will not be smog legal. All that stuff is coming off. The Trick Flow heads do not have a hole in them. I've got it registered as a "Classic Vehicle" so as long as I don't drive it 5000mi/yr I don't need to be smogged. I agree with you- "form follows function". I've always tried to keep what I did to the Turbo Coupe stock looking. On this motor I said the hell with it.

Yes, that's one of the things still hanging. The tool is sitting on the stand just below it.

I was hoping to have it in at the end of this week. Still working on the wiring on the drivers side. Just want to clean it up. Ended up tearing the front "A" arms apart to replace the lower ball joints. Media blasted everything and then paint. Ran into a few issues with the new brakes. Still waiting on front bearings and seals. Then I just ran into a problem with the front brake lines. What I ordered was for a 88 LSC, calipers, rotors, and rubber lines. The existing front lines have 2 different fittings, drivers side is smaller than passengers. New lines look identical but the fittings are wrong. On the back everything is just what I ordered, no problems. Back to the parts hunt.Actually I've been pretty lucky with parts with all the work I'm doing. There is nothing used going back on this car except the A/C compressor. X

I'd post more recent pictures but my camera had a heart attack. Actually have one more item under the hood and that's replacing the steering shaft. I've got a Borgeson unit I'm installing. Hope it fits with my spaghetti headers. In the picture above I'm actually further along. Eliminated the multiple plugs for the O2 sensors leaving only the bottom plugs, installed the evaporator, relocated the barometric pressure sensor. Trying to clean up the wiring on the drivers side. Replacing all the plastic looms. Re-routed the engine wiring harness away from the rubber heater hoses for access. Cleaning up the underside of the car, painting. This car never sees bad weather.

Looks like a nice steering shaft. I think I'm going to go with a Maximum Motorsports piece at some point.

Don't know much about the MM shaft. I like their stuff though. This one was recommended by a friend who builds roadsters. He has one on his 32. Looked pretty good to me but I know zip about steering shafts. My rag joint is toast plus it looks like shiznit.

Making progress. Still have a few things on my list- replace the gas tank, pump, sending unit. I've got it all together just need to remove the existing tank.X
