Motor mounts September 12, 2016, 05:56:25 PM What brand motor mounts do you all have on your Cougar? Does Ford make anything that will fit the 86 or is that a stupid question? If it is the 5.0 then the only other mount other than the part store offerings are Chuck's but I don't think he is making them anymore due to time constraints. Motor mounts Reply #3 – September 13, 2016, 02:34:26 PM Chuck designed his own mounts due to the factory 5.0 mounts being under designed and failing especially if you wanted to make any more torque than what the factory motor put out. With the 3.8L I don't recall much commenting on motor mount failures so I would just run with the parts house stuff and call it a day. Hopefully some of the other folks here with 3.8L cars will chime in as I have not owned a V-6 car. Quote Selected
