Depending on how far you're willing to drive, I have a bunch of what you need - ho shortblock with cam, tc rear, injectors, computer, etc.
T-Birds can't fly.  Ask how I know...

I have injectors you can have for free.

On the big heavy parts, Find them close, be willing to drive or be prepared to pay huge for shipping. Probably close to a hundred bucks for shipping heads. Check your local salvage yards for heads. Every salvage yard will probably have a Ford F-150 with a 5.0 in it. Those E-7 heads will be way easier to find than off of a 5.0 Stang. Those are usually stripped fast once they hit the yard. Explorer intakes are pretty easy to locate.

Don't waste the coin on the e7 heads at the salvage yard. For the same money buy gt40's.

Heya Gary...I've got another HO shortblock...I forgot I had it. Do as Justin suggests, nab a set of GT40's from the junkyard, take 'em to a shop, have 'em cleaned, valve job, and install the TFS springs, and you're set. While you're getting heads, nab the intake and TB...and there's your goods. You've already got the 1515 headers...

And do you still want the rear I have? I've been pretty busy with farm stuff, but tomorrow I'll have some time to tinker with it...going to dig in and see if there's a way to make it 4 lug and drum for your setup... send me a text or whatnot. :)

I've also got two HO cams, and a set of Chuck's mounts that would be great to hold the new engine down in your car..

Will the GT-40's be good with his flat top pistons? I think an H.O engine swap, not upgrade would be even easier. The old engine has to come out anyway. Not sure about in that area, but E-7 heads run about $50 a pair here. GT-40's are significantly higher for a guy on a budget. A simple H.O upgrade or swp will still be a vast improvement over the stock engine......especially if you are on a tight budget.

Pick n pull heads in kansas City are about 30-35 bucks. I think core on them is about 5 bucks each. I've got some E6 and 3 pair of E7's he can use for cores. In a week or two or three I'll be going back, I'll get him a set of GT40's...buy my lunch afterward, we'll call it even? :)

Vinnie is right, I'd almost recommend an HO bottom end/short block. Leaves the door open later for a higher lift cam. I've got an HO shortblock, I'd forgotten I had it, as it was in a crate of stuff that came with my '84 notch. I'm going to go through all my stuff over the next few days, pitch out what I can't use, and store some other stuff. If he needs a good bottom end, I might as well sell it, no sense of it sitting and going bad or whatever. It's an HO block, it has YYY in the valley and valve reliefed pistons.

Another kid on FB was asking me about an HO bottom end, also from KC, and I think he's going to go for the "50 dollar 5.0" that had coolant in 2 cylinders. It's a good block, and he's going to have it tanked anyway.

Beau, due to your location, you are gary's best bet on most of this. Maybe you can be hired by him to help with the swap and build. He's new to the mechanic part of it.

The only bad thing is, while I do have a fair amount of time, I'm still an hour and half away. But I'm willing to help out all that I can :)
