Another Bird January 23, 2015, 10:50:53 PM So last Saturday the wife and I drove to San Antonio and picked up this. An 86' T/C autoWe stopped for lunch and found this good thing a had brought a floor jack and 4-way lolI've got a little TLC to attend to. Replacing the rear braked as they don't work. Fluid runs right out of the left wheel cylinder Transmission shifts fine. Doing a tune up although the plugs look good. Sorry about the blurry pic but you can see the color. Quote Selected

Another Bird Reply #5 – January 23, 2015, 11:14:06 PM I have to replace the tires as they are dry rotted pretty bad as well as the rt front wheel as it has a small chunk missing on the lip, somehow it still holds air. Also some interior has some parts needing replaced. Quote Selected
Another Bird Reply #6 – January 23, 2015, 11:41:04 PM Love it! I'm currently thinking about getting an 87 TC 5 speed, but honestly, I'd rather have an 83-86. Quote Selected
Another Bird Reply #7 – January 24, 2015, 02:40:47 AM Awesome score John! It took many years to get that paint to look that way, custom for sure! More pics...... Post up what you are missing and need so i can keep an eye out for you. Quote Selected
Another Bird Reply #8 – January 24, 2015, 05:17:07 PM Aluminum spare AND Marchals? F*ckin' Aye!What parts are you needing for the interior? I might have a few things..That's a good car...lots of potential. No rust, I take it? Bottle of Dr Pepper: +25 cool points. LMFAO Quote Selected
Another Bird Reply #9 – January 24, 2015, 09:49:46 PM I got the car purring like a kitten today, timing was set somewhere in the neighborhood of 40+ degrees of timing, couldn't step on the gas hard at all. I had to pretty much accelerate on egg shells. It also wouldn't idle worth a darn. Reset the timing and only had to slightly adjust the base idle. Changed out the plugs, wires, rotor, car. I also found that 1 of the screw tabs was half broken - fixedNow on to the "I had replaced the MC but the brakes still need to be bled" issue............. yes the MC had been replaced BUT the real problem was a seriously leaking driver side wheel cylinder. I put it up on jack stands and removed the wheels and the drum, which practically feel off, and it was an oily mess. After a thorough cleaning of both sides I started removing stuff. I found the springs holding the shoes on broken. I already had a new hardware kit anyway. I have to check out some other things as well that aren't working. The wife changed her mind and I jumped before she could change her mind yet again LOLIt had been repainted on the passenger side at some point. That's the only side that appeared on his FB page. I'm trying to convince her to let me repaint the car the XX Dark Cherry we have in the cabinet, and a silver/grey on the bottom so it looks almost stock.Quote from: ThunderbirdSport302;443350Aluminum spare AND Marchals? LMFAOI know right!! Jerry took them off so they wouldn't get stolen or broken. I'm going to refinish the covers as they are in desperate need of it. Nope, no rust underneath and just a tad around the bottom of the rear window and a few other spots. LOL about the Dr. P.Now for what I've found needing replaced or is missing thus far;center console lid - pic shows condition - sucks cause I have a really nice one in Indiana :{ window dew wipes and run channels - nice set up in storage as wellmissing one of the door pull coversclear gauge cover is crackedcracked dash - sold the good one I had.................Thunderbird grill emblemall the rear badging.the radio is junk, wife wants one that she can plug her phone into............. Another Bird Reply #11 – January 24, 2015, 09:59:47 PM Congratulations, it looks like you scored a nice one. Those "sun" custom paint jobs tend to be more common down here in the south don't they......LOLRon Quote Selected
Another Bird Reply #12 – January 24, 2015, 10:14:23 PM Thanks guys, Ron, funny thing, the car came from AZ around 6 yrs ago when the PO bought it.I'm also changing the wheels as the wife HATES the current ones, and the fact that the sidewalls of the tires look like they're could explode anytime. I'd like to find a set of snowflakes that need refinishing and do a little custom work on them although the wife isn't sure if she likes them or not. After all it'll be her car................. :( Quote Selected
Another Bird Reply #13 – January 24, 2015, 10:41:22 PM Hell, too bad you're in TX...I've got a set of 'flakes that need refnishing, but they have NO curb rash...just the clearcoat is chipping off. As for the cluster plastic...I've got ya covered. 15 shipped? I'll get a couple of pics tomorrow...I don't have lights out in my storage, and the kids have ran the batteries down on my big flashlight. (little buttholes).. Quote Selected
