Re: Griggs Racing Reply #2 – July 05, 2005, 04:30:21 PM That would be me LOL Yes, I have a Griggs GR-40 kit on the front of the car. It consists of a Tubular K-member, Tubular A-arms, Bumpsteer kit, C&C Plates, and full Coilover suspention. Very Nice setup, and Very close to the Maximum Motorsports Kit. It changes the suspention geometry so you have the stock travel, but with better results. It moves the wheelbase forward....... Like 1.5" or so. Thats the only drawback I see. It Increases Caster for better "Corner Carving". In My 87 I have a brand new set of PRC components ( Springs and all...in an 87 TC) and I have to say that the 88 TC with the Griggs setup outhandles it by a long shot. The thing huggs the curves, and you dont have a lot of problems taking curves at a normaly "Suicidal" speed. Very well mannered on the interstate, but it really shines on those back country roads. I also have a set of subframe connecters on it, so that helps too. The only problem now is that with a great suspention setup up front, I can tell all the little shortcomings of the still stock rear......that will be fixed soon too....as soon as I can convince the wife that I need the 1500 some odd dollar Griggs rear! LOL All in all, one of the best kits you can get for a fox bodied T-bird/Cougar.....If you can afford the pricetag. Quote Selected
Re: Griggs Racing Reply #3 – July 05, 2005, 04:54:38 PM What specifically do you want to know? You can't go wrong with Griggs (or Maximum Motorsports). I haven't heard much feedback on the new Grigg's SLA. It will definitely outperform the stock Mac-Strut design, but it uses solid bearings everywhere and will most likely make daily driving a pain in the rear.On Edit:Griggs actually offers a Tbird specific torque-arm, MM does not. I haven't inquired as to how much longer the Tbird arm is than the Mustang arm. Depending on the difference, and your intended purpose, the longer arm may not be needed (and a MM arm could be used). Grigg's parts have a reputation of breaking. MM parts are heavier, but seem to stand the test of time better. Most broken Grigg's parts were from cars that actually raced or went to HPDEs and such. You'd probably be fine with Griggs parts on a daily driver. Quote Selected
