Got another cougar. pics inside. June 27, 2014, 10:52:49 PM Say hello to my new race / drag car. The TC will be getting engine/trans swapped and retired to daily driver duty seeing as the body on it is a lot rougher.... I got this from a friend who bought it with the engine half assembled from someone else I knew that bough tit from original owner in Niagara Falls Canada... was going to do it up then gave up on it with the upper intake and turbo pipe and valve cover all off...The current guy got it.... and then went put it all back together, built a custom 3" ex with divorced w/g, and it turns out someone at some point 1st guy] got a lot of water in the motor.. possibly degreasing engine bay as I recall he did... with stuff took off or from it sitting w.o a upper intake or piping on the turbo or a valve cover at friend #1s house....... . cause when it fired up for current guy, it burned oil like a sumbitch.. pulled the heads and the cyls have rust stains... and each chamber is soaked in oil... At any rate.. it NOW... has CHE rear ctrl arms, ds loop, and a fully rebuilt 8.8 I did, in it w. 373s and a center cap now on the steering wheel... Oh what did I pay? I traded a fully set of ported GT 40 heads for it. [pictured]. So basically the plan is to swap in my 11 sec TC motor and trans all as one, add LA3, VAM/55s/holset, into the Coug..... then use my spare short block., the cougar head with a quick port job, and cougar intakes, clutch, t5 etc etc, ported E6, stock T3 it comes with and a volvo i'c / rad combo I have here... and the bird with the 8.8 3/73s and this stuff should still be a stout 12 sec street car on 35 lbers...... and pump.. lotsa work ahead.. oh it came with the ROHS too. :hick:These pics were taken a year and a half ago when owner 1 bought it.. http://ohreally.mnsi.net/coug%20020.jpghttp://ohreally.mnsi.net/coug%20016.jpghttp://ohreally.mnsi.net/coug%20015.jpghttp://ohreally.mnsi.net/coug%20014.jpghttp://ohreally.mnsi.net/coug%20012.jpghttp://ohreally.mnsi.net/coug%20010.jpghttp://ohreally.mnsi.net/coug%20008.jpghttp://ohreally.mnsi.net/coug%20002.jpgThe pic with the ROHs is very recent... Oh.. how many of these were produced for 84 anyways???? Quote Selected

The rarest, but not necessarily most desirable cars are the Automatic transmission XR-7's. Marti Auto works is now offering stats on these cars, they might be able to figure out the percentages. Got another cougar. pics inside. Reply #8 – June 29, 2014, 02:35:44 PM '84 XR-7s were all turbo cars. I liked my '84. Then again, I prefer the 83-84 cars over the 85-86 variety (and both over the 87-88).Good looking car. Not a huge fan of the ROHs, personally. Quote Selected
Got another cougar. pics inside. Reply #9 – June 29, 2014, 03:28:30 PM Thanks guys.Chuck i'm mixed on them... It's going to mostly spend its time on polished 10 holes with 26x10 ET Drags out back and polished TC spares/skinnies up front at the track anyway. I may sell the ROHs to generate some cash.. we'll see. Quote Selected
