So much room once you get down to the nub! Reply #3 – May 15, 2014, 01:13:37 AM also ,is it me or is the 3.8 wider than a 5.0? I know for sure the intake is wider but what about the block itself? Quote Selected
So much room once you get down to the nub! Reply #4 – May 17, 2014, 11:28:07 AM Yeah I've got a running engine in there and still have enough room that I can literally stand up in there and work. (not while its running though lol). As for the lights, I changed those and went with LED strips, looks much better now... Well, not now, as I haven't swapped the setup over to my TC hood yet, but anyway....I don't know about the 3.8 being wider... I suppose it is possible, if the compression chambers are set at a greater V angle than the 5.0 Quote Selected
So much room once you get down to the nub! Reply #5 – May 17, 2014, 04:16:24 PM The 3.8 is wider. It has a taller deck height than the 5.0, but a shorter one than the 351W. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the deck height is closer to that of a Cleveland, somewhere around 9.2" compared to the 302's ~8.2 and the 351W's ~9.5 Quote Selected
So much room once you get down to the nub! Reply #6 – May 17, 2014, 04:37:43 PM makes sense.... the engine is huge for a v6 Quote Selected
So much room once you get down to the nub! Reply #7 – May 17, 2014, 05:55:45 PM yup, that's what I was thinking when I was looking at the difference,so a 351 should fit just fine.. not that im thinking of a 351, im sticking to my guns on the 5.0 swap. that should give a lil more side to side clearance which I am looking forward to! Maybe an inch of space between the firewall, but a large wiring harness takes up that space, so it's as far back as you can go without crushing the wires. Quote Selected
So much room once you get down to the nub! Reply #10 – May 17, 2014, 10:01:57 PM I am surprised nobody mentioned how filthy my engine bay is!!! lol, the guy I bought the car told me that he actually was using it for a farm vehicle. the interior had hay, dirt, and other things that I don't even want to know.
