Duel Pumps Reply #1 – March 17, 2014, 06:41:10 PM How are you gonna drop it into the tank? I've heard there is a dual pump setup designed to replace a stock mustang hangar, but I haven't seen one yet. Quote Selected
Duel Pumps Reply #2 – March 17, 2014, 06:58:15 PM It fits right in i already tried it!!!! Quote Selected
Duel Pumps Reply #4 – March 17, 2014, 08:10:42 PM Looks like a good idea Tom. Dual 255lph pumps feeding one fuel rail should do the trick. Aeromotive has 340lph 90psi intank pump for supercharger applications. Hope that it does the trick. Quote Selected
Duel Pumps Reply #5 – March 17, 2014, 08:20:48 PM Oops, I saw the hangar in the back ground and thought the two pumps were just hose clamped together. ignore me... Quote Selected
Duel Pumps Reply #6 – March 17, 2014, 09:00:33 PM Tom, I installed a Whipple twin screw on my Uncles 06 stang, his is running dual SVT Focus pumps. It was a VERY tight squeeze going into the tank, but it works great. I like your personal touch thinking. Glad to see your up and better, take it easy. I have a buddy who just got home, they were gonna transplant him but he pulled through. Doc said no wrenching for 10 weeks. Hey where in CT are you located, my Uncle and Pops live near Danbury on the NY side. Quote Selected
Duel Pumps Reply #8 – March 18, 2014, 09:17:53 AM You probably know this, but make sure to use Goodyear submersable fuel line in the tank from the pumps to the pickup. I did something like this with 2 Ford GT 340 pumps on my old Marauder and saw many tips and tricks from the Lightning guys about what lines to use the correct "wye" to order. Quote Selected
Duel Pumps Reply #9 – March 18, 2014, 08:39:35 PM Tom,What hp are you expecting and what injectors and pressure are you wanting to run?I am guessing you have the high pressure unit as you normally do your homework. But for those that do not know there are two versions of the 255 lph pump which can be seen here:http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/html/fpspecs.htmlThe inline booster pumps like the T-Rex can work but some say they can restrict flow which makes sense but they were never designed to really increase flow in the low pressure range. They were to help push more fuel in the high pressure range but with the HP Walbro unit it is pretty much pointless. What Tom is doing it is the way all the high boost / high HP tuner cars are going with the twin Ford Focus or GT (the Le Mans car not the Mustang) pumps. We ordered a stainless steel tank for the 69 Fastback and had it made with twin Focus pumps to support the 392 inch motor that is going in it. Nothing else seemed to make sense.Good luck Tom, looks like fun!!Darren Quote Selected
Duel Pumps Reply #11 – March 18, 2014, 10:10:50 PM Tom, Uncle lives in Brewster, Pops Carmel. My pops jumped ship, has a freakin M3 now. But Uncle Mike still Rocks Ford Muscle. His 06 pumps about 530hp on a easy tune. Got a LOT of time tied up in that car. If you ever run into a 60+ guy driving a lowered blue s197 rolling on steeda wheels, bring your A+ game. Quote Selected
Duel Pumps Reply #12 – March 19, 2014, 07:50:56 AM Quote from: TOM Renzo;43077387 i am not sure if i can use one line??? And we were discussing using a single AN12. But that is in the planning stages as i do not know the flow numbers of that setup. I think the 2 pump setup is better than one single pump . So with process of elimination we are starting with the delivery system as i have discussed it with a couple of engine builders. They all think we need more fuel as well. Time will tell and the dyne will let us know.Matt are they by the AIRPORT!!Tom what I ment by the one line is the fuel rail for the injectors. But using a an12 line from the fuel pump up to the rail should work considering the aftermarket booster pumps they sell, go inline to the stock fuel line off the pump before the filter. I hope it works out for you. Making your own 2 pump system is cool. Quote Selected
