88 Sport

Looks pretty nice. I probably would have ordered one in this color combo in 88. Blue on blue with a 5.0. Nice :D. Now if only I didn't have a wedding to pay for.......

For 4100 I'd expect the carpet to be vacuumed.

Vacuumed....how about a high-powered steam clean with some xylene-based solvents? Would it kill the guy not to turn it into a pig sty? If the entire car were rust-free no matter where you looked, you could potentially write the mess inside off as "no big deal I'll spend a week cleaning it"

It better be rust free for $4100. If it was I could see cleaning the interior. Maybe.

That looks exactly like my Sport did. Only mine was a lot filthier, and a lot cheaper. I paid 450 bucks for mine and drove it home on what gas was in it.

Weddings are overrated. Save the Sport. :)

The Thunderbird I pulled the tail lights from at the local Pick and Pull is this car's twin. Except for the fact that the one in the yard is rusty and has holes in it. Speaking of which I should go back and swipe the header panel and bumper cover. http://row52.com/Vehicle/Index/1FABP61F3JH149358

I think my fiance would kill me if I brought home another car. Although it would be cheaper than what I've spent on wedding stuff so far :mullet:.

What's your plans for the header and grill? I'm looking for one, as well as the inner marker lights. I'm wanting to get away from the "TC" look....

I was going to buy them and d them with the other spare body panels. If something gets damaged I want to have spare parts at my disposal, because they are hard to find ;).

Be a cinch if the keys were with it. I'd pay handsomely for the complete lock set, and ignition tumbler..

My car looks just like that too.lol...Only mine is an LX..I searched for awhile because I wanted shifter in the floor...What exactly makes a "sport" different from another Bird? Seems I read somewhere they came with a little different interior and better handling package? Is that correct?

They usually had Premium Sound, quad shocks, floor shift, buttstuffog cluster, trak lok rear (2.73 gears), a semi-dual exhaust, and a few other odds and ends. The VIN had a designator in it..I think it is "61"...it's basically a Thunderbird XR7, only with much better C pillars and windows LOL

I wish they'd have also had the HO and Mustang exhaust. Couples with the 2.73 rear ratio, it would've been peppy, but not as fast as the flagship horse.

I usually explain them as a TC minus the turbo engine and manny tranny ;)

As an update I was able to grab the bumper and header panel from the Sport in the junk yard before it was crushed. I also got the tail lights from it. I've now got the header, grill, bumper, front lights, rear bumper, trunk lid, and tail lights for an 87-88 Thunderbird in the rafters of my garage. I've now got spares just incase some jack hole hits me.
