Update......The Ford pilot bearing for the diesel engine will not work. The bearing fits the trans fine, but it looks like only the center of the piece. The pilot bearing has the bearing on the inside, then the "housing" on the outside that fits it to the block. This was just the center piece, so, ordered a new bearing from Ebay.

News as it happens.

Can you post a picture of the V8 one and the Ranger diesel one side by side so we can see what you are taking about?

We only have the center section of the V-8 bearing left. When it waspulled, it came apart. I'll see what I can do.

Tom, is that a number from Autozone or what?

I've also heard the v-6 90's probe one will work if you hit a dead end.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I received the bearing retainer today. All steel, not aluminum base steel shaft. It was milled, very sturdy, and they did a perfect job. Texas Motorsports. A little more than we wished to spend, but, for what we got, and what we needed, well worth it.
