It's my son's T-bird, and he was thinking of using an 87-93 style dash. :D

I seem to remember somebody posting with one in this forum (or the old forum). I think it looked kinda cool, and it does have the advantage of opening up a whole new world of aftermarket dash accessories and inistrument clusters for you...

I saw a Tbird on cardomain, that was getting an Sn-95 dash mod, dunno if it's the one Eric mentioned though.
The owner or installer, took a pic from inside the car looking at the dash, and man it looked good!
Woner what he'd charge to do mine up...?  :D

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Actually that's not the one I was talking about. The one I saw was a black 87-93 dash. The SN95 looks cool too, though...

Besides the windshield curvature being different, the Mustang speedo is cable-driven.

I have 2 threads on the subject saved from the old board, both just "could it work", "it might work" conversations. Nothing definite.

The thread I'm talking about was one where the guy had done it. He posted pics and everything - he used an airbag wheel, too (though I think/hope the airtbag was not functional). The cable driven speedo would not be a problem - just install the speedo cable (a minor thing when compared to installing a whole dash!). I seem to remember he said the thing was a drop-in with the exception of a few bolt holes that didn't line up, and he had to use a Mustang console (which would allow for a hand brake, too :D).

I'll have another look, but if it was in the Lounge or User Rides (most likely), then I don't have it.  :sorry:

Eric's "Trivia" page says:
In theory, any Fox chassis dashboard will work in any other Fox car due to the curvature of the windshield.
So maybe it will. I know a Mustang dash will fit a fox LTD, but the windshield is much more vertical than ours. I'm not 100% sure about the curve at the base, though.
