88 TC main power distribution

I have an 88 tc but I can't get power to anything. Can anyone share the wiring diagram?

Thanks in advance
Gary

The fuse links are the first thing to look at, they are directly below the starter relay (solenoid) on he driver's inner fender. If they are mushy feeling, or you can bend them around easily, they've been "popped". You'll easily be able to tell a good from bad. If those pan out, check your ignition switch. I just found a bad one on my new (to me) Mustang, gave me a fit for a few minutes.

Keep us posted, there's some guys here that know Fox wiring like it's their kids' birthdays, lol

88 wiring diagrams are available by use "thefoeyouknow" but i will be uploading this EVTM soon myself as soon as my son comes off with his EVTM.

keep us posted.  if your not electrically savvy,, have a friend who knows how to use a meter , have him/her continuity test across the fuse links.

remove all lugs off the starter relay
connect meter to one lug, continuity test all the way down the fuse link cable and find the point where there is an open.

or........

remove all lugs from the starter relay
keep battery cable on the starter relay
add one fuse link harness lug to the same post and snug down the nut.
use a test light , probe down the fuse link harness and verify your test light illuminates.  If yes.......

add a different fuse link harness lug to the starter relay post on top of your battery cable and snug down the nut.
repeat above test and probe the harness in various spots and eventually you should have a situation where the test light does not light up.  The fuse link will be blown in between the points where the light did come on and where the light failed to come on.

the big round black chunks of plastic **are not** the fuse links, the fuseable links are the wire(s) between these pieces of large round plastic chunks.

Weird...on my '87 Escort GT, I had a fuse link let go..the rubbery piece at each end was, well...rubbery, and bendable. The good ones were not. That was 16 years ago though...I was green about cars, the issue stumped me and my dad both. Took it in to a guy that mentored me later on, he showed me the problem, and fixed it.

Still, would be a good place to look first though ;)

the round 1'' or so thing that is stamped with words or numbers denoting a fuse link is not the fuse link.  its the wire that is the link.

the round thing thats about 1'' long is the HTap heat shrink cover which seals off the splice, the splice itself is cad welded.

take one apart and see.

Thanks guys, I have checked the fuse links and all are fine. The previous owner has installed a remote starter system and I want to get rid of it so I need wiring diagrams to put it all back to factory. I had purchased an evtm but got the one for Grand Marque instead of the Tbird so that is no help. How do I get to thefoeyouknow to look at the evtm?
Thanks again for all the help.

PM him..that's his username here. I also have an EVTM for the '88 Bird, but have no easy way to scan it.

Sounds like an issue with the remote start might possibly be your problem.

so your original post is incorrect?

you said you had no power to anything, that meant either the battery cable is open or fuse links.

After pulling the remote start (no diagram really needed), which is probably not the problem anyway, you'll want to look at fuse link G (14ga green) test it for power, not feel. Follow these diagrams, and you'll see why I suspect G.

I've got this evtm in paper, and I thought about removing the binding and doing a full scan, to make a PDF, but I'm hesitant to destroy the book to do it.
