Manual Brakes???

As we speak i have the midnighter in pieces. You know new engine ETC!!! So i was looking at making more room under the HOOD. So i want to convert to MANUAL BRAKES!!! Now i build cars with 4 wheel discs with manual brakes all the time. So the new engine will most likely not have enough vacuum and or like i said i want to make more room under the hood!!! So with that i have to measure the pedal ratio and pick a master. So far i came up with a corvette master. The car has 4 piston calipers on all four corners and is manual brakes. Now if in fact i mess up the midnighter wont stop well. So i need to do some tricky math and take a hard look at master cylinder diameters. So tell me why i should not do this!!!:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

I like manual brakes, and is something I planned on doing if I ever got that bored. The mustang "conversion" kits fit and work.

What is the new engine going to be?

turbo charged 94 Cobra engine/440cc injectors/megasquirt /5 speed swapped (T5)/maxbox upper intake/70mm PP throttle body/AJE coilovers/2003 Mustang control arms/S.T. sway bars/ES rear control arm bushings/11" brake conversion/manual rack conversion/8.8 TC rear with rear discs and a welded diff/3.73 gears/PLX wideband/199mph speedometer/Aeromotive FPR/CNC hydraulic hand brake/cobra R wheels/....ect.

Yes the aftermarket!!!! But why would i give them 4X the money when a stock cylinder could be used. By the way right off the bat i have issues. A stock TC pedal has a ratio of 2 1/2 to one. Unless i change it to at least 6-1 i am dead in the water. So back to square one. How to increase the ratio and then pick a cylinder. Well time will tell and this is just something i am thinking about. Not set in stone Thanks for the replies. Example i had a PINTO with discs in the front and drums in the rear. Had no booster and worked great. Granted it was light but still NO BOOSTER. !!!!

I hear ya, my 71 Comet has this setup from the factory and works perfect, even with the larger wheel cyls in the rear to run the big brakes I went to when I tubed it and installed a 9"
The reason I suggested aftermarket was to look up specs as I do on MC bore, stroke, ratio etc so you could get some ideas to start to put together a kit in your head. Most sites will recommend a combo of parts that will work together. If you look up the parts they recommend, go to their spec section and use your own knowledge you can come up with the equivalent such as you mentioned in using a vette cyl etc.

Tom. The TC is Fox based right? Somewhere in my long list of bookmarks, I think I have such a link as to what you are doing especially in the ratio correction. Be patient as I try and find it.

The main one I wanted came up "404 error" page not found so it's gone.
