I think thats what it's called...I couldnt find an end to replace using the adaptor.... I believe I used 1 of those on the rear prop block....and and also a larger adaptor for the other rear brake, as they dont use the same fittings

You are correct about that. They do use a lot of different inverted flare nuts on those cars. Thanks

Ok, I guess I didnt make it clear before that Im having issues with the caliper end of the hose, not the hard line end of the hose.  The end that threads into the caliper on my new hose has the wrong flare, and Im looking for an adapter to fix that.

OK that is different!!!! Show me a photo. That is an issue. Why are you having a problem. Is the calipers the stock ones from the car??? If not what car did they come from. Thanks!!

I dont have my car here, its 30 miles away at my mechanics.  The calipers are stock calipers for my car.  It should resemble what is in your picture, as that is the same style hose.  We ordered new calipers to try with the new hoses, and the new calipers are the same as the stock calipers.  I dont have the hoses here to take pictures, but here are what the wrong and right ends look like.

NO NO NO those are the wrong adapters. The first one is a line conversion from inverted flair to inverted flair line side.

The second is ISO BUBBLR to inverted flair both of those adapters are for hard line

In the many many years i have been in this business i have never seen an adapter on a CALIPER. Sorry i may be miss informed but i have never seen one.

Best bet is to take the caliper and run a TAP in the hole to identify the threads. Whether metric or American. Then after you get the size you can find a line. But you should be able to get a MUSTANG line as if memory serves me the calipers are the same. Other than the Turbo Coupe that has bigger brakes and spindles. The photo above is a mustang type small caliper i THINK. They are the only ones that use that threaded end on the caliper side. Why not bring the original line to the part store and match it up. If it is actually a stock part. If not someone along the line changed something. I looked up front hoses for the COUGAR and they are available. Is that what the car IS???? Thanks

I have never used an adaptor on the caliper itself.... I'm thinking someone's not doing their job right getting you your parts

I said the photos were just for reference.  They are just to show the difference between the 2 flares I am dealing with.  No local parts house has a replacement line that matches the male end on my stock line.  Everything has the wrong flare on the male end. They all have inverted flares, and it needs to be an outward/outverted/bubble, whichever you choose to call it.  I have even ordered new calipers to try to match the new hoses, and the new calipers are just like my stock ones.

Yes that is what my new hoses look like.  The problem is that the hoses have the wrong flare on the male end where it threads into the calipers.  They thread in, but most likely wont seal good because of the wrong flare on them.  If its someone not doing their job right, its all 3 of the local parts houses, Autozone, Oriellys, and Advanced Auto.  Ive been to all 3 hunting parts and all show the same things.

Okay, I don't understand.  In your post #37 you have the wrong inverted flare picture first and then the correct bubble flare picture second.  The second picture that daminc posted is a brake hose with a bubble flare end just like what you posted as the correct end.  Did you order a new hose and new caliper from the same parts store at the same time and try them?  If the soft line for the 87 Thunderbird Sport is incorrect then look at a soft line for an 85 Mustang  cylinder and see if that works.  The end that goes into the caliper should be identical for sure if not the whole soft hose.

Im saying the new hose I bought looks identical to that hose.  The factory hose on my car looks like that, but the flare is different on the male end.

Yes, the picture that Daminc posted is what Im looking for.  Problem is, nobody around here has that in the correct size, which is 1/2 20 to 1/2 20.  Yes, I ordered new hoses and calipers from the same supplier, and they dont match up.  Ive ordered 2 sets of hoses from different suppliers hoping it was a fluke, but they are all wrong.
