Chime box

Where is the chime box located that chimes when the door is open with the key in, or the headlights are on.. I can barely hear mine, it's very faint.

Thanks

It's probably dying or dead. Common problem as these cars get older.

On your car, the chime module is under the dash, driver's side, above the fuse panel. You may need to drop the under dash insulation panel, and the panel under the column, to even see it. Should be either light blue in color, or a black box with a light blue section. I believe there's only one harness going to it. (The box with two harnesses will be the wiper motor governor).

Scoot your seat all the way back on the driver side

Lay on your back and have a flashlight and shine almost like up above your Fuse box

Way the heck up in there on top of a metal bracket resides your chime box

It's really not all that bad to get out to take some patients, have fun open it up and figure out what's not beeping right

I've had mine out before and they are fairly simple boxes easy enough to work on so just troubleshoot find the speaker see if there's corrosion what happened

Not to hijack (I seem to be doing this a lot lately), but where would the box be located in my 84?
