Hissing Noise October 22, 2012, 11:48:59 PM I was wondering if you guys could help me. My '88 TC makes a horrid hissing noise between shifts (5spd) and when letting of the throttle (typically in the lower gears 1-3). Is this a wastegate problem? The TC tends to miss when boost is full until I get off the throttle and get back in it. Then it runs great. I'm new to the turbo world so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Quote Selected
Hissing Noise Reply #3 – October 25, 2012, 03:27:00 PM Nope. Bone stock. I actually paid a little more attention to the noise and it doesn't seem to be a hissing noise like I first thought. It sounds more rattling noise. It only makes the noise between shifts (usually 1st - 3rd gear) and when I let off the throttle (again, usally only in gears 1-3). Someone mentioned to me that the wastegate might need repaired but he wasn't sure either. I can't find anything loose on the car. Quote Selected
