83 Ford Thunderbird awesome - $6500 (bolingbrook) Reply #7 – September 10, 2012, 05:34:21 PM That 83 is a very nice car!The nose in question is just a grill, simple bolt on (though needed to be painted to match). They were available as an over the counter part from Ford in two styles: 83/84 & 85/86. Both of those in the pics above are 85/86 units. There are few around as they were $250 in the early/mid '80's. Expensive and an acquired taste. You can see what the 83/84 style looked like it you check out the first pic my thread: "A few updates".I picked up an A&A ground effects kit yesterday (without the front spoiler), which is what appears to be on the cars above. It's an uninstalled unit still in the box (well, what was left of the box...). Quote Selected
83 Ford Thunderbird awesome - $6500 (bolingbrook) Reply #8 – September 10, 2012, 07:21:25 PM That grille was available thru Ford I believe. In 1982 we ordered a 83 Bird to match the 57 we had and when we picked up the car they gave us a whole slew of promo stuff. I still have it somewhere but it was a desk calender, an accessory brochure(which that grille is in) a key chain with the 83 bird emblemwhich I still use that if found will be returned to me, although after all these years I would highly doubt Ford still has any of that info on me, and a coffee mug, of course the mug has the emblem used on the 77-82's but for free you cant complain much. 83 Ford Thunderbird awesome - $6500 (bolingbrook) Reply #14 – September 12, 2012, 11:40:19 PM This is not far from me. I saw the body kit and wheels and decided it wasn't worth my time to look at it. I just think it looks kind of "cheap" the way it's been done. Probably has more to do with the wheels and spoiler than anything else. Quote Selected
