I don't even know what a compression fitting is..sounds like they're not something to trust on a brake line tho, lol.

Off to google now...and i can't recall who had that Cougar either....was it blackNredCougar, or someone like that? Seems his name was Rick?

Edit: holy shiznit...someone put THOSE on a brake line!!??? :beatyoass:

yep.  There were two of them on the brake line going to the rear, so at least they weren't on the front.  And amazingly, the parking brakes almost work right, at least till I put the rear end in out of the tc.  Also the compression fitting on one of the tranny cooler lines leaks too.  Going to have to change part of that line at least because there is no room between it, and the nut holding the line to the transmission port, lol.  I'll have some pics tonight of my progress on this thing though.

Now that I know what they are called...we have those on a lot of our air lines at my work....always blowing off, or breaking. Nothing quite like getting whipped by a small air hose because the POS fitting blew the hose out....but, they are easy to fix lol.

lol.

Anyways - freshly cleaned and painted turbocoupe seats, and I even took the one base off the festiva base bhazard put it on and got it all working right again!

Dash is pretty much back in, but the windshield wipers don't work on anything but high, so I have some issues already.  Starting to get the center console back together too.

New gray headliner to replace the red.

Tinted the rear windows while I had everything out - 20%

Freshly painted interior stuff

As for the exterior, I havent made up my mind between Solid black, or a Black pearl  using the summit single stage paints.  They are the same price.  Thoughts?

What paints are you using? and for the seats too? Would like to change my interior to black instead of dirty tan. The black with grey looks really good though.

I'm using Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric paint.  I got it at Oreillys and Meijer.  The gray is just the factory raven centers.  I painted them because they were badly faded to blue.  The red that was in the car was all torn up leather.

I dont remember, but he was from Ada, OH. Down near Lima. Im not even sure if he did the work on it. But I'm guessing whoever clamped the vac line going to the wastegate to 'remedy' a boost leak (thus overspinning the turbo to death) probably also did the brake lines.

BTW brad, your dads definition of rust free is obviously different than everybody elses, rofl.

I think this is why its rusty where it is

All that water collected in the fiberglass sound deadener and just sat there.  Did that on both sides.

I replaced metal here too, but didn't take a pic of it.

Havent worked on this car for a while, and have had parts scattered around in the shop so I decided I have to get this car painted and put back together for the most part before I can tear into my autox car again.  Heres the car with all the flaking clearcoat sanded off, but it has been getting smoothed out for the past week and slowly but surely, it will be painted soon I hope!
