Traxxas has really stepped their game up. I was into R/C's a few years ago and they offered nothing like that. If that's your price range...it'd better be built right and it had better DO WORK. Most badass points for brushless. Won't be long before every electric R/C is brushless. Or a vast majority anyway.

When taxes come I am going to be buying a couple of batteries and motors for my slow stick. Also been thinking about some other faster planes. These brushless motors are nuts compared to a brushed motor.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

You could build one for FAR less that equals it. I wouldn't do it but I'm not into road stuff. The only way I'll ever get another surface vehicle is if it's a Traxxas/Mamba Brushless E-Revo. It'll do 70 out of the box. I also want a Traxxas Spartan boat. It's nasty. Good for over 50 on the water. Nitro's days are numbered. It's still much cheaper to go nitro with the larger airplanes but electric is better.

Amazing, wonder how fast it would go with me sitting on it. It is amazing how something so small with little wheels can do that.

I made one about 20 years ago with a plane motor. Crashed it broke the engine,it was fast though, just not very street-able. made a go cart with a honda 500-4 to, that worked about the same. That was scary.

Honestly, just the price of nitro gas, your better off using electric. As fas as my planes go, I bought a kit for $20 (the slow stick by gws) a $10 motor (2409-12a) a 18 esc ($15?) Receiver ($15) two micro servo's ($3) one of my dads old fm radio's and a 1500mah 1800 an 2100mah batteries, extras from old planes or about $8 each. I have been flying the plane for a year, crashed it, broken props, and so far the only thing I have had to replace was the micro servo's, which are a bit small anyways, and a couple of props.

Just a couple days ago I flew for 2 hours straight. $1 per hour enjoyed, I figure it costs me about $10 an hour to see a movie. This I fly at the park or a church parkinglot right down the street.

Nitro is cheaper than electric by the time you're up and running with the right equipment. Performance is much better with electric though, and its clean. I'd never go back to nitro. As far as aircraft go, I'll only ever get another non-electric if its a giant scale 100+cc gas plank.

You can get into it pretty cheap if you buy used but you have to be careful. IMHO, It's not worth getting a surface model unless its all wheel drive. They are all just too powerful to be messing around with 2wd.

Technically you shouldn't be doing that with FM (or PCM). You should have an AMA and be flying at a dedicated club field. Get yourself a DX6 2.4 used and jump on HobbyKing.com and get some of the knock off spektrum HK Orange RXs. You can get some super cheap Lipos as well.

I'm loving how popular the park flyers have gotten. I only take my nitro planks out 2 or 3 times a year because it's such a hassle. I can fly my helis and electric park flyers just about anywhere anytime if I want to including my back yard.

Why do I need to fly fm or at a ama feild? My father and grandpa donated three feilds to the ama. One got turned into the olympic skate rink for the 2002 olympics. The other two got turned into soccer feilds. They sold all three plots of land and never even informed my dad or grandpa. I'm not driving 25 miles because they sold all of our flying feilds to fly a 19oz plane. Way to pay back the owners of a hobby shop.

I am flying fm because spektrum was still pretty new and more expensive then the fm receiver and crystal. That and the 25 fm radios we have laying around vs the one decent specktrum radio, and I want to fly the same time as my dad. The fm radio I have right now I peeled the plastic off of, and it was a $600 radio. A $200 radio is a bit much for a hobby your not sure you need to get into. I do plan on buying a new radio when I buy my next plane though. Even if I did fly ama, they always have fm people flying too.

How is nitro cheaper? You couldn't even buy a gas motor for everything I have into my plane.
